Mac apps we wrote for ourselves.
Both of these exist because a tool we relied on stopped being good enough. They are native macOS apps, signed and notarised with Apple, with no account, no subscription and no server between you and your own work.
Dictate
Hold a key. Talk. It types.
Push-to-talk dictation for your whole Mac. Hold a key, say what you mean, and the words land wherever your cursor already is — in any app.
- 34 languages transcribed on-device, or any language via an API key you own
- Keeps two languages mixed inside one sentence instead of flattening them
- Verbatim by default; the tidied version is a modifier away
Snap
Screenshots that keep the secret.
Capture an area, a window or the whole screen. Every shot is copied and saved without a window opening; the confirmation is the way in when one needs marking up.
- Black-out redaction that destroys the pixels — blur and pixelation do not
- Copy the text off anything on screen, English and 中文, read on-device
- Colour picker, pin-on-top, and filenames that don't leak when you took the shot
Why give them away?
Because the same hands build the booking, invoicing and admin systems Calgary businesses run on, and a tool you use forty times a day is a better argument than a case study. Both apps are ours end to end — which is also why a bug found on Monday is fixed on Monday.
